John has been publishing, presenting and selling his fine art images of wilderness, wild lands and rural western scenes for many years. John chooses the best fine art images and selected client and commission projects out of the 300,000 analog and digital images in his archives to showcase in this website’s galleries. In addition, he has 1,500 more images displayed on the John K Mercer, Swan Valley Images Facebook page that are followed by 22,000 fans. John does all his own printing, specializing in giclée on canvas and keeps an inventory of a hundred of the very best finished images in stock hanging in his gallery in the Swan Valley.

His award winning work has shown in exhibitions, displays, galleries and museums across the state in Billings, Bigfork, Bozeman, Great Falls, Hamilton, Helena, Kalispell, Missoula, Polson, Seeley Lake, Swan Valley, and Whitefish. He travels out of state too. In 2017 John was juried into shows ranked by Sunshine Artist Magazine as the 10th and 16th best of the top 100 fine art shows in the nation. In addition he was juried into what Art Fair Insiders calls the number one best small town art fair in the country. His work has been published in magazines, is hanging in public buildings, medical centers and offices around the state as well as collected by private enthusiasts in the United States and Europe.
